Starting around 1908, he established a professional relationship with Emil Töry and Ödön Lechner, in Budapest, Hungary, which culminated in the design of the Hungarian Pavilion for the Exposition of Turin. He later opened an independent practice, and worked with the young Károly Kós. In 1926, he published his drawings under the title Triiume eines Baurneisters (Dreams of a Master Builder). Among his many recognitions are the first prize in the competition for the Austrian-Hungarian Bank in Vienna (with Emil Töry, 1912). He also designed the Building for the Adriatic Insurance Company and for the Budapest Police Headquarters (today's Hotel Meridien, with Emil Töry , 1912-1918). With Töry, he played the leading role in the design of the exterior and interiors of the Pavilion of Hungary at the Turin 1911 Exposition.
