He later opened an independent practice, and worked with the young Károly Kós. In 1926, he published his drawings under the title Triiume eines Baurneisters (Dreams of a Master Builder). Among his many recognitions are the first prize in the competition for the Austrian-Hungarian Bank in Vienna (with Emil Töry, 1912). He also designed the Building for the Adriatic Insurance Company and for the Budapest Police Headquarters (today's Hotel Meridien, with Emil Töry , 1912-1918).
