Descriptive Note Text

This black-and-white postcard reproduces a photograph taken from the "cortile d'onore" between the Monumental Bridge and the Monumental Waterfall. The photographer was likely standing on the stairs leading to the Fountain, located behind him on the right bank of the river Po. On the right side of the photo one can see the Pavilion of France.

Beyond the Monumental Bridge with its impressive set of columns displaying sculptor Francesco Sassi's Winged Victories, one can see the Pavilion of the City of Paris and in the middle the dome of the Pavilion of Festivals and Concerts, on the left bank of the river.
