Most postcard albums were mass-produced and intended for tourists and fairgoers. These albums often consisted of collections of postcards measuring approximately 13.5x8.5 cm., making them easy to carry and store. They presented as foldout (or "accordion") albums consisting of 10 to 20 "souvenir" postcards that could be collected as keepsakes, or gifted. Alternatively, individual postcards could be separated from the others along dotted lines to be mailed to friends and relatives. While publishers and album covers varied, the photographs of notable pavilions and views of the fairgrounds were often very similar if not identical.
