Descriptive Note Text

This black-and-white photo of Piazza Quintino Sella in the Villaggio Alpino features the village's church and fountain. While the fountain was a faithful reproduction of the fountain in the alpine village of Jouvenceaux (Sauze d'Oulx, Italy), the church combined elements of typical alpine village churches, with their simple frescoes, steep roofs, and bell towers.  On the right side of the postcard, one can see a typical log cabin, possibly a recreation of a typical building of the Cadore region in the Eastern Alps.
