Descriptive Note Text

This is a beautiful print of a watercolor by painter Carlo Follini.

Unlike the white chromatic cipher of the neobaroque buildings of the Exposition, the Pavilion was inspired by the architecture of local temples (Wat) with large, polychrome roofs, in the so-called "binocular style," and with a golden dome. The architectural project for the Pavilion of Siam was completed in Bangkok, Thailand, in the offices of the Public Works Department by architects Annibale Rigotti and Mario Tamagno.
