Descriptive Note Text

This black-and-white photo postcard shows the Pavilion of Turkey.  Detaching itself from the neo-baroque style that marked the Exposition, the Pavilion of Turkey was designed by architect Léon Gurekian in a Moorish revival style. The Pavilion shows typical Islamic designs, such as the multifoil arches of the main portal and windows, and the intricate latticework gracing the balconies and roof.
