Descriptive Note Text

This colorized photo postcard shows the Pavilion of England with the Fountain of the Twelve Months, in the foreground. The Pavilion was designed by exposition architects Stefano Molli, Pietro Fenoglio and Giacomo Salvadori di Wiesenhof. Here we can see the central structure of the Pavilion, framed by two spires, surmounted by the Royal Crown. Behind the trees, one can see the two lateral porticos. In the foreground, on the left side of the image, one can see the sign "Corazza Decauville." This sign advertised one of Paul Decauville's inventions, displayed in Turin 1911: a structure that he placed on the left side of the river Po intended to protect river banks from erosion.
