Descriptive Note Text
This black-and-white postcard shows the process of "pressurage," or "pressing," by which the maximum quantity of juice and the right amount of structuring and coloring compounds needed to produce the desired wine, is completed. Pressing plays a fundamental role in champagne production, as the grape varieties to be pressed are mainly red (pinot noir and meunier). This postcard advertizes the French fine winery of Moët & Chandon, which had a kiosk, located in the gardens of the French section, at the Exposition of Turin 1911.
