Descriptive Note Text

This postcard combines the patriotic elements of the Exposition with the advertisement of "farina lattea italiana" an early infant formula produced by the Milan-based Paganini, Villani & Co. This national product received a "grand prize" at the Exposition, as noted in the back of the postcard.

The front of the postcard shows the dome of the Mole Antonelliana, and, in the foreground, the wheel of a flour mill and the shield with the bull (toro) of Turin.  On the sides two hammers symbolize the power of labor.  Festoons and wreathes symbolizing abundance frame the postcard, and two banners (one with the Savoy cross) complete the patriotic imagery.
