Descriptive Note Text
This is a photograph of the Palazzo del Ministero delle Poste e Telegrafi. The building follows a symmetrical composition with a dominant central bay, which projects forward and rises higher than the two flanking wings. This central element culminates in a tall spire-like finial. The two side wings step down symmetrically from the center, each terminating in its own smaller corner pavilion.
At ground level, the facade is opened up with large arched windows and doors, grouped in a triple arrangement on the central bay and single arches on the wings. Pilasters divide these openings vertically, giving the wall surface a sense of depth and rhythm.
Above the ground floor, neo-baroque ornaments and cartouches enrich the building. The roofline is concealed behind a balustraded parapet, punctuated by finials.
