Descriptive Note Text
This black-and-white photo postcard shows the Pavilion of Siam and the Pavilion of Serbia from the river Po. Both Pavilions did not adhere to the neo-baroque style of the rest of the Exposition. The Pavilion of Siam was inspired by the architecture of local temples (Wat) with large, polychrome roofs and a golden dome. The Pavilion of Serbia was built in the Serbian-Byzantine style and displayed elongated arches decorated with arabesques and friezes.
