Descriptive Note Text
This black-and-white photo postcard displays the facade of the Pavilion of Festivals and Concerts, which was one of the largest buildings of the Exposition. It was connected to the Pavilion of Music. The facades of these interconnected buildings were admirable for their elegant proportions and the richness of architectural detail in the neo-baroque style. Among the decorations, the Guida Tricolore mentions two fountains with a statue of Neptune created by sculptor Gaetano Cellini, which is visible in this photograph.
