Descriptive Note
The Tipografia e Litografia Doyen was founded in Turin in 1833 by Michele Doyen, originally from Dijon, France, in collaboration with Michele Ajello. It was located in the central Piazza Carignano and then moved to Via Carlo Alberto 38. After 1890 the firm assumed the name of Litografia Doyen di L. Simondetti, Torino, as it was acquired by Luigi Simondetti, who remained its owner since its closure, when the building was destroyed by the bomings of August 8, 1943.
In 1911, it was one of the most important lithographic firms in Turin.
