Descriptive Note

Giovanni Angelo Reycend came from a family of booksellers and publishers of French descent. He studied engineering and after obtaining his degree, he taught at the Scuola di applicazione per gli ingegneri di Torino and served as "rettore" (rector) of this institution from 1902 to 1905. He was also the President of the Architecture branch of the Circolo degli Artisti in Turin.

He designed numerous buildings and villas in the Crocetta neighborhood of Turin and had a number of public roles such as city councilor for education and public works for the municipality of Turin. 

He wrote a pamphlet for Stefano Molli entitled, L'Ingegnere Stefano Molli e la sua opera di architett commemorazione tenuta alla sede della Società degli ingegneri e degli architetti di Torino nella sera del 30 giugno 1916.
