Descriptive Note
The "Ginori Manufactory" was founded in 1735 in Doccia ( Florence) as a porcelain factory by Marquis Carlo Andrea Ginori.In the 18th century, Ginori acquired international renown for the creation of porcelain sculptures. In 1806 Leopoldo Carlo Ginori Lisci took on the direction of the business and initatiatiated a renewal and expansion made the Ginori porcelains a stable presence at International Exhibitions, creating a "made in Italy" style that featured floral elements and new table decorations. With the expansion, a new brand emerged and in 1896 the Richard-Ginori Manufactory Company was created. In the 20th century the company underwent multiple transformations to redefine its image and in 2013 Manifattura Ginori was acquired by Gucci, repositioning itself toward a more exclusive clientele.
The Richard-Ginori Manufactory had an exhibition in the Italian section of the Pavilion of Arts Applied to Industry.
It displayed artistic ceramics and everyday ceramics, and tiles classified under the group XIII Decors, furniture, and furnishings, class 74 Everyday and luxury glass and ceramics.
