Descriptive Note
Mario Stroppa, aka Marius, was a prolific graphic designer and illustrator. He attended a 3-year art program at the Scuola Superiore d'arte applicata alle industrie in Milan and then enrolled in the prestigious Accademia di Brera, without completing his degree.
Marius designed advertisements for important companies such as Pirelli, Motta, and Folonari, and created the poster for the 1906 Exposition in Milan and the decorative panels for the Brussels' Exposition in 1910-12.
He collaborated with the Rizzoli publishing house and designed the Padiglione del libro (Pavilion of the Book) for the Milan Fiera Campionaria of 1935.
