Descriptive Note Text

Fratelli Branca is a distillery in Milan, Italy, that was founded in 1845 and is especially famous for its amaro digestif, Fernet-Branca. In 1905 the successful company's trademark was officially registered. It displays an eagle with spread wings that claw a bottle with the world below, which was reproduced above the kiosk's main entrance. The trademark was designed by Leopoldo Metlicovitz, one of the fathers of modern poster design in Italy. The graceful Fratelli Branca kiosk was designed by architect Pietro Fenoglio.
