Descriptive Note Text
This postcard reproduces a watercolor of the Pavilion of Siam created by painter Rodolfo Paoletti, and is part of a collection of 12 different postcards derived from Paoletti's illustrations. Paoletti accurately captured the colors of the Pavilion, with its golden central spire and golden roofs framed by dark blue edges, standing out against the green hill behind the Pavilion. A slender covered boat gliding along the river Po enhances thel feeling of peaceful leisure evoked by the painting's gentle colors and graceful shapes.
The postcard was mailed to Abbiate Guazzone (Varese) in the Lombardy region of Italy and stamped 18 December 1911. It was published by Stabilimento Litografico A. Scrocchi.
