Descriptive Note Text

This black-and-white photo postcard shows the busy entrance to the Exposition from Corso Vittorio Emanuele. We can see the colonnaded portico that connected two enclosed units surmounted by two pinnacles. As shown by the the two eagles at the top of the pinnacles, this entrance was a tribute to the House of Savoy. Elaborate decorations and statues graced the entrance. The tramway line to the Valentino park is visible on the right side of the photograph. The postcard was mailed on 9/11/1911.
