Descriptive Note
Ernest Billecocq attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris (1892 - 1901) and trained in the ateliers of Jules Astruc and Jean Louis Pascal, also in Paris.
He was the architect of the French Establishments in Oceania section at the International Colonial Exhibition in Paris in 1931. With his son André Billecocq he worked on the chapel of JJésus-Ouvrier in Arcueil, the enlargement of the chapel of Notre-Dame-Auxiliatrice in Clichy in 1935-1936, the new Sainte-Geneviève School in Versailles, the Cercle du Sacré-Cœur. he also designed villas, factories, and apartment buildings.
Billecocq was appointed chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1932, from the French Ministry of Colonies, and Officer of the Crown of Italy.
He designed the Martell Kiosk for the Exposition of Turin 1911.
