Descriptive Note Text

The Exposition of Turin 1911 featured numerous recreational facilities, among which restaurants, beer gardens, and cafes. The main restaurants were the Restaurant du Parc (also called Ristorante Francese) and the Ristorante Popolare.

The Restaurant du Parc was located at the heart of the fairgrounds, on the left bank of the river Po. With its tall arched windows, columns, and elegant balaustrade it recalled the architecture of Palazzo Madama, and more in general, the neobaroque style that was the unifying cipher of the Exposition.
