Descriptive Note Text
The Pavilion of Catania, also known as Pavilion of Catania and Siracusa was located in the Pilonetto area. The Pavilion displayed manufacturing and agricultural products typical of Eastern Sicily. The major attraction were photographs and drawings of the new hydroelectric power plants that brought water to the provinces of Catania, Messina, amd SIracusa.
The Paviliion was inaugurated on July 30, 1911. In attendance were Executive Committee members Tommaso Villa, Antonio Bianchi, and Enrico Boyer. Exposition architects Giacomo Salvadori di Wiesenhof and Stefano Molli also participated in the inauguration ceremony, as did various public servants and political representatives from Catania.
