Descriptive Note Text

This volume provides a detailed description of the exhibit devoted to the Italian Railways. The exhibit covered an area of 6500 square meters, including indoor and outdoor spaces. In line with the goal of the Exhibition as a whole, the exhibit of the Italian Railways aimed at providing “una dimostrazione completa ed oggettiva del progresso fatto dalla Nazione nel campo dell’industria e del lavoro durante il cinquantennio trascorso dal giorno in cui [l’Italia] fu ricomposta ad unità” (a complete and objective demonstration of the progress made by the Nation in the field of industry and work during the fifty years that have passed since the day Italy was reunited).
