Descriptive Note
After studying music in his hometown while practicing the family's trade (the family owned a barber shop), Giuseppe Baroni continued his musical training at the Conservatorio of Parma and, in 1906, he obtained a diploma in band instrumentation at the Liceo musicale of Pesaro.
He became a renowned band conductor and in 1910 he won the Concorso dell' Alta Italia per fanfare. In 1927 he created a city band in Torino, and went on to compose numerous pieces for musical bands.
He taught at the Scuola di musica of Borgo S. Donnino for 30 years.
On June 4, 1911, Maestro Giuseppe Baroni directed the ninth Concerto sinfonico for the Turin 1911 Exposition in the Salone delle Feste, Pavilion of Festivals and Concerts with Music by Martucci, Debussy and Wagner.
