Liebig's Extract of Meat Company was established in the United Kingdom. They produced LEMCO brand Liebig's Extract of Meat, Oxo meat extracts, and Oxo beef stock cubes. The company was named after Justus Freiherr von Liebig, the 19th-century German organic chemist who developed a method for the industrial production of beef extract. The product enjoyed enormous popularity and by 1911 it had became a staple in middle-class European households.
The Liebig kiosk was designed by V. Van Nieuwenhuyse and was 12 meters high. The interior had a diorama showing different views of the production plants of the Liebig company in Latin America. The eccentric kiosk was rounded in structure. At its top, it featured two bulls balancing a huge can of Liebig Extract of Meat.
