Descriptive Note Text

This menu advertized and perhaps celebrated the National Lottery Prize that was connected with the 1911 Exposition. The Prize consisted in 500,000 liras.  While featuring dishes from different regions of Italy, the menu shows Turin's indebtedness to French cuisine.

The young woman, surrounded by flowers and holding an oversized lottery ticket, renders the advertisement style of the times.

The menu was published by Stabilimento cromolitografico Alessandro Marzi, in Rome.
