This black-and-white photo postcard captures a partial side view of the Monumental Bridge, with the crows waiting for the arrival of the King and Queen of Italy. It is likely the Royals would be arriving by automobile or horse-drawn carriage from the vehicular underpass that we see in the photograph.

The postcard was dated June 13, 1911 (handwritten greetings), and mailed on June 15, 1911 (stamp date). It was mailed to Cavaglia, a villlage on the western flank of the Val Poschiavo in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland.
