This colorized photo postacards shows the impressive facade of the Pavilion of Hungary as seen from the Po river. The two spires display the Patriarchal Cross, which is thought to have been given to Saint (then King) Stephen by the pope as the symbol of the newly Catholic Kingdom of Hungary. The two-barred cross is one of the main elements in the coats of arms of Hungary since 1190.
In this postcard, the magnificent dome of the Great Hall is red and the other roofs are light blue. We have no contemporary written document that attests these were the real colors.
