Descriptive Note Text
This black-and-white photo postcard presents a typical view of the Villaggio Alpino. The village was designed by Giovanni Chevalley and Alfonso Morelli di Popolo. Here we can see the steep roughly paved alleyway leading to the village church and main square, flanked by two log cabing and other alpine dwellings. Two women, dressed in local costumes, stand in the middle of the picture. Chairs are lined up in the foreground, possibly in preparation of a performance or other public event, or simply to offer fairgoers an opportunity to rest.
