Descriptive Note Text

This black-and-white photo postcard shows the church square of the Villaggio Alpino with the village fountain, which was a faithful reproduction of the fountain in the village of Jouvenceaux (Sauze d'Oulx, Italy). The villagr as a whole,with its typical log cabins, and roughly paved alleyway leading to the village church did not replicate a specific alpine village, but rather combined elements from many such villages.
